La comunicazione

La matrice RACI serve anche per definire come sarà gestita la comunicazione di progetto. Infatti mostra chi riceverà le comunicazioni ed in quale modo. Guardando la matrice si vede subito se la comunicazione fluirà in modo corretto o se ce ne sarà troppa o troppo poca.

The RACI matrix is also used to define as project communication will be managed. In fact it shows who receive communications and in what way. Looking at the matrix you can see immediately if the communication will flow properly or if is excessive or not enough ..

I ruoli

Ogni progetto ha i suoi ruoli ed i sui meccanismi di funzionamento. All’inizio il Project Manager deve preoccuparsi di distribuire un documento ai major stakeholders e di concordare con loro la matrice RACI e il piano della comunicazione.

Any project has its roles and mechanisms of operation. At first, the project manager must be concerned with distributing a guideline  and agreed with major stakeholders. The document contains the RACI matrix and the communication plan.

Halo effect

Il percorso tradizionale del Project Manager passa attraverso un ruolo tecnico per arrivare poi ad un ruolo manageriale. Ci sono più modalità per fare questo percorso: a balzi, passeggiando, di corsa. Solitamente però il cammino è determinato dall’esigenza dell’azienda di affidare un progetto ad una persona che se ne assuma la responsabilità. Questo però è raramente accompagnato da una delega di responsabilità

The traditional path of the Project Manager passes through a technical role and arrive at a managerial role. There are multiple ways to do this route: leaping, walking, running. Usually, however, the path is determined by the need of the company to entrust a project to a person who would take the responsibility. But this is rarely together with a delegation of responsibility

Il team

La creazione del team avviene attraverso una serie di incontri in cui il PM illustra il progetto. Poiché il team è composto prevalentemente da tecnici dobbiamo essere molto concreti e precisi quando illustriamo quello che ci aspettiamo da loro, quando, con che modalità, con che tempi e quali saranno i parametri che utilizzeremo per misurarli.

Team building occurs through a series of meetings in which the PM explains the Project Plan. Because the team is composed primarily of engineers we have to be very specific and precise when we illustrate what we expect from them, when, in what manner, with what time and what are the parameters that we use to measure them.

I ruoli

I ruoli devono essere stabiliti fin dall’inizio ed, insieme a questi, le modalità di funzionamento. In una pubblica amministrazione quando si fa una legge si devono fare anche i decreti attuativi. Per noi le modalità di funzionamento sono i nostri decreti attuativi. Se le persone non sanno cosa devono fare non lo fanno oppure lo fanno con i loro tempi. In un progetto i tempi sono quelli del Project manager.

The roles must be established from the outset and, at the same time, must be established the operating rules. In a public administration when the  Government establish a law it  should also do the executive decrees. The operating modes are our executive decrees. If people do not know what to do or he doesn't do it or he does it  in their own time. In a project the schedule must be done by  the project manager.

La proattività

Compito di un Project Manager è quello di portare a termine il progetto in accordo con tempi, costi, qualità e customer satisfaction definiti nel Charter. Quindi, una volta condiviso il piano, deve attivare il processo di Monitoring e Control. Questo non significa restare in attesa degli avanzamenti e dei problemi ma promuovere tutte le azioni necessarie perché il processo di comunicazione funzioni.

Aim of a project manager is to complete the project according to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction as defined in Charter. So once shared the PLAN , he must start the process of Monitoring and Control. This does not mean keep waiting of the progress and issues but to promote any necessary action for the process of communication to work.
